Privacy Notice and Data Protection
Information notice on the protection of personal data, purposes of processing, retention periods and the rights of data subjects.
This privacy notice has been prepared by Demir Law Office in its capacity as data controller under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Act No. 6698 (“KVKK”).

2. Personal data processed
- Identity and contact data: first name, surname, e-mail address, telephone number.
- Content of your enquiry: the messages and documents you send us through the contact form or by e-mail.
- Contact form records: when you submit the form, your name, e-mail address, telephone number, subject and message are stored in a database on our own server and are visible only to authorised members of the firm. Your IP address and browser information are not stored in that record.
- Transaction security data: technical records relating to use of the website (such as IP address and browser information), solely within the scope of security and legal obligations.
3. Purposes of processing
- assessing your enquiry and responding to you;
- providing legal advisory and attorney services;
- fulfilling obligations arising from the Turkish Attorneyship Act and related legislation;
- ensuring information security and securing evidence in the event of a dispute.
4. Legal grounds
Your personal data is processed pursuant to Article 5/2 of the KVKK on the grounds that processing is directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract, that it is necessary for the data controller to fulfil its legal obligations, that it is necessary for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right, and on the basis of legitimate interests. In all other cases, your explicit consent is obtained.
5. Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred, solely for the purposes set out above and to the extent permitted by legislation, to authorised public institutions and organisations, to courts and enforcement offices, to correspondent lawyers with whom we work in order to conduct your matter, and to the infrastructure providers whose services we use. Transfers abroad are not made unless the conditions set out in the KVKK are satisfied.
6. Retention period
Your data is retained for as long as the purpose of processing requires and until the end of the limitation periods prescribed by the relevant legislation; once that period expires it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.
Messages sent through the contact form are kept only for as long as necessary after your enquiry has been concluded, and are then permanently deleted from the administration panel. You retain the right to request earlier deletion.
7. Your rights
You may submit your requests to info@demirhukukburosu.net or info@demirhukukburosu.org. Applications are concluded within thirty days at the latest.
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed; to request information if it has been processed; to learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in accordance with that purpose; to request rectification where the data is incomplete or incorrect; to request erasure or destruction; to request that such actions be notified to third parties to whom the data has been transferred; to object to any adverse outcome arising from analysis carried out exclusively by automated systems; and to claim compensation where you suffer loss as a result of unlawful processing.
8. Cookies and the visit counter
Apart from the technical cookies strictly necessary for it to function, this website does not use cookies for marketing or profiling purposes. No third-party visitor tracking tools such as Google Analytics are used.
A simple first-party counter records how often each page is read. It writes no cookie, assigns no identifier to your browser, stores neither your IP address nor your browser information, and does not link your movements between pages. The only information kept is the total of “which day, which page, how many views”. Because no record can be traced back to an individual visitor, no personal data is processed for this purpose.
If the “Do Not Track” setting is enabled in your browser, the counter does not run at all.
9. Third-party services
Certain parts of the site make use of third-party services that deliver content directly to your browser. When those parts are displayed, your browser connects to the relevant service and, as a technical matter, your IP address and browser information are transmitted to it. Those services are subject to their own privacy policies:
- Map: the location map on the contact page (Google Maps).
- Market data: the current exchange rates, precious metal prices and the exchange rate chart on the Currencies & Gold page (open.er-api.com, api.gold-api.com and api.frankfurter.dev). Only a price data request is sent to these services; no personal data is transmitted by us.
These services do not receive any account, form data or contact details belonging to our visitors, and our office does not carry out visitor tracking through them.
10. Advertising restrictions notice
This website has been prepared for information purposes only, within the framework of the Turkish Attorneyship Act and the Advertising Restrictions Regulation of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. Its content is in no way intended to solicit work, does not constitute advertising and may not be construed as legal advice.
11. Governing language
This English text is a translation provided for the convenience of our international visitors. In the event of any discrepancy, the Turkish version of this notice prevails.
